Haryana BJP Expels Eight Leaders for Anti-Party Activities
The Haryana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) expelled eight party leaders on Sunday for engaging in “anti-party activities.” The disciplinary action was taken after these leaders decided to contest the assembly polls as independent candidates, challenging the party’s official nominees.
BJP’s Haryana state president, Mohan Lal Badoli, confirmed the expulsion of Sandeep Garg (Ladwa), Jile Ram Sharma (Assandh), Devender Kadyan (Ganaur), former minister Bachan Singh Arya (Safidon), ex-minister Ranjit Singh Chautala (Rania), Naveen Goel (Gurugram), Radha Ahlawat (Meham), and Kehar Singh Rawat (Hathin). The decision was made to curb indiscipline within the party ranks.
Expulsion Triggered by Rebel Candidature
All eight leaders turned rebels after being denied party tickets for the upcoming assembly elections. In defiance, they have chosen to contest independently against BJP’s official candidates in their respective constituencies. Consequently, they have been expelled from the party for six years, effective immediately.
“This decision underscores the BJP’s zero-tolerance policy towards indiscipline and anti-party activities,” stated Mohan Lal Badoli.
The action is expected to set a strong precedent, ensuring that party members adhere to organizational rules and refrain from actions that undermine the party’s electoral prospects.
