Gunmen Storm Paramilitary HQ In Peshawar
Gunmen attacked the Frontier Constabulary (FC) headquarters in Peshawar on Monday morning, beginning with two suicide bombers who detonated themselves at the facility’s main entrance. The blasts enabled armed assailants to enter the compound, triggering a fierce exchange of fire with security forces.
Casualties And Security Response
Initial reports indicate that at least three FC personnel were killed, and several others were injured in the attack. Police and army units quickly surrounded the area and launched a clearance operation. The headquarters is located in a crowded part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, heightening concerns about potential civilian harm during the assault.
No Immediate Claim Of Responsibility
While the region has seen a rise in militant activity in recent months, no group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. Security agencies are examining whether cross-border militant networks or domestic extremist factions coordinated the assault.
Investigation Underway
Authorities are working to determine the number of attackers involved and whether any managed to escape. The incident has once again raised questions about security preparedness and the growing frequency of militant strikes targeting Pakistan’s armed and paramilitary forces.
