Government Orders IndiGo To Refund Flyers By December 7
The Ministry of Civil Aviation has instructed IndiGo to clear all pending refunds for passengers affected by recent flight cancellations by Sunday, December 7. Officials warned that failure to comply could lead to regulatory action.
Zero Charges For Rescheduling
The government has also directed the airline not to impose any rescheduling or cancellation charges on travellers whose plans were disrupted. The rule applies to all bookings impacted during the period of operational disruptions and is aimed at preventing additional financial burden on passengers.
Baggage To Be Returned In 48 Hours
Passengers whose baggage was separated due to cancellations will have it traced and delivered to their home addresses within 48 hours. Authorities said IndiGo must maintain clear communication channels and ensure passengers receive timely updates on luggage and refunds.
Action After Major Disruption
The directives follow widespread cancellations triggered by operational issues, which left hundreds of passengers stranded across airports. The ministry said the priority is to restore normal travel conditions and ensure consumer rights are protected. The airline has been asked to provide complete compliance updates once refunds are processed.
