Cleanliness Drives Free Up 190 Lakh Square Feet in Offices
Special Campaign 4.0 involved cleanliness initiatives across more than 5.97 lakh sites, resulting in the clearing of 190 lakh square feet of space in government offices. This newfound space is intended to improve office functionality and optimize space use in government facilities. The campaign marks a significant expansion compared to last year’s efforts, with 5.97 lakh sites covered in 2024 versus 2.59 lakh in 2023.
Record Scrap Sales and Oversight
The Special Campaigns, initiated in 2021, have generated a total revenue of ₹2,364 crore from scrap disposal over the years. Daily monitoring and evaluation were conducted by Cabinet Ministers, Ministers of State, and Secretaries through a dedicated portal to ensure consistent progress.
The next phase, beginning on November 14, will involve a thorough evaluation to assess the campaign’s outcomes and further streamline government office space usage. This phase will also determine the campaign’s impact on government efficiency and space management.
