Google Gemini May Let Users Import Chat History
Google is reportedly testing a new feature for its Gemini AI platform that would allow users to import their past conversations from other chatbots like ChatGPT and similar services into Gemini. The move is intended to make it easier for people to switch AI tools without losing previous context and work.
How Import Feature Could Work
Early reports say the feature would let users upload their exported chat history files from another AI assistant and bring the conversations into Gemini. This means users could continue discussions, reuse prompts or retain context they built previously on another platform.
Other Features in Testing
Alongside the chat import option, developers have spotted other enhancements under development, including tools for video verification and the ability to generate higher-resolution images directly within Gemini. These additions aim to broaden Gemini’s capabilities and appeal to more users.
The import tool is currently in testing and has not been officially released; Google has not confirmed the exact rollout timeline or sources that would be supported initially.
