Google Expands Gemini Deep Research Access
Google has enhanced its Gemini Deep Research tool by opening it up to developers through a newly launched Interactions API. The move allows developers to integrate Gemini’s advanced research capabilities directly into their applications, expanding the reach of Google’s AI-powered research assistant beyond its own platforms.
What Gemini Deep Research Does
Gemini Deep Research is designed to handle complex research tasks autonomously. It can break down a topic into multiple steps, search across the web, analyse sources, compare information and generate detailed reports. The tool is built to go beyond simple summaries by iterating through research cycles to improve accuracy and depth.
Easier Integration for Developers
The Interactions API acts as a unified interface for accessing Gemini models and built-in AI agents like Deep Research. Google said the API manages long-running tasks and interaction states automatically, reducing technical overhead for developers. This makes it easier to deploy research-driven AI features in enterprise software, analytics tools and knowledge platforms.
Performance and Use Cases
According to Google, Gemini Deep Research has shown improved performance on internal benchmarks focused on multi-step reasoning and research accuracy. The company expects the tool to be used in areas such as financial analysis, scientific research, policy studies and enterprise intelligence, where large volumes of information need to be processed and synthesised.
