Gill To Lead India In England ODIs
The BCCI has announced India’s squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against England, with Shubman Gill named captain and Shreyas Iyer appointed vice-captain. Virat Kohli has returned to the squad, subject to fitness clearance.
India ODI Squad For England Series
India have picked a 15-member squad for the England ODI tour, combining senior experience with younger all-round and bowling options. Gill will lead the side, while Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli add experience to the batting group.
Kohli’s selection remains subject to fitness clearance. KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan have been named as the wicketkeeping options, giving India flexibility in the middle order.
Shubman Gill To Lead India
Gill’s appointment continues India’s recent shift towards younger leadership in the ODI format. Shreyas Iyer, who has been named vice-captain, is expected to play a key role in the middle order.
India’s batting group includes Gill, Rohit, Kohli, Iyer, Rahul and Kishan. The all-round options feature Washington Sundar, Axar Patel and Nitish Kumar Reddy, giving the team depth with both bat and ball.
England ODI Series Schedule
India’s bowling attack includes Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh and Gurnoor Brar. The selection gives India a mix of pace, left-arm angle, wrist spin and lower-order support.
The ODI series will begin on July 14 at Edgbaston. The second match will be played on July 16 at Sophia Gardens, while the final ODI is scheduled for July 19 at Lord’s.
