Gaza Faces Famine as Starvation Deaths Rise

Gaza health officials confirmed that eight Palestinians, including two children, died of malnutrition in the past 24 hours. This brings the total number of starvation-related deaths to 281 since the crisis began, with at least 114 of them being children.

Civilian Deaths in Strikes

Alongside the famine toll, Israeli strikes and gunfire killed at least 25 more people across Gaza. Many of the victims were reported to have been hit while seeking aid or sheltering from the fighting.

UN Declares Famine in Gaza City

The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), a UN-backed authority, has formally declared a famine in Gaza City and nearby regions. It estimates that over half a million people are facing severe hunger, destitution, and rising mortality.

International Response

Global agencies describe the crisis as a man-made disaster. Aid groups warn that relief efforts remain blocked by ongoing hostilities and logistical barriers. Without a ceasefire and immediate humanitarian access, conditions are expected to deteriorate further in the coming weeks.
