Gaza Death Toll Tops 65,000, Israeli Troops Advance
Israeli troops and tanks advanced deeper into Gaza City on Wednesday, intensifying their ground operations after days of heavy air and artillery bombardment. The Israel Defense Forces reported targeting Hamas strongholds, while local officials said the offensive also struck densely populated civilian areas. Evacuation Measures
Israel announced the opening of a temporary humanitarian corridor to allow civilians to flee from northern Gaza to the south. However, many residents remain hesitant to leave, fearing attacks during the journey or insecurity in the evacuation zones. Despite repeated international appeals for a ceasefire, the fighting has shown no signs of slowing, raising fears of further escalation in the days ahead.
