Police responded shortly before 1:30 a.m. on August 15 after reports of gunfire near the Quad Annexes, a residential area on the Virginia State University campus in Ettrick.
Officers found five people suffering from gunshot wounds outside campus housing. All five victims were taken to hospitals for treatment. Authorities have not publicly identified the victims or confirmed whether they are students or otherwise affiliated with the university.
Multiple Suspects Sought After Campus Shooting
Authorities said the shooting involved multiple suspects. Investigators have not disclosed a possible motive or detailed the circumstances that led to the gunfire.

Virginia State University Lockdown Lifted
