FIFA Adds $60 Supporter Ticket Tier for 2026 World Cup
FIFA has introduced a new lower-priced ticket category for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, creating a $60 “Supporter Entry Tier” aimed at improving affordability for fans. The tournament will be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico and will feature an expanded 48-team format with 104 matches scheduled between June 11 and July 19, 2026.
How the Supporter Entry Tier Works
The $60 tickets will be available for all matches, including knockout games and the final. These tickets will be distributed through national football associations to supporters of teams that qualify for the tournament. FIFA said the allocation process will be managed by each association, which may use loyalty systems or supporter programmes to decide eligibility.
Ticket Allocation Structure
Under FIFA’s revised pricing framework, half of the tickets allocated to national associations will fall within the lowest-priced categories. This includes a mix of the existing supporter value tickets and the new $60 entry tier. The remaining tickets will be split between higher-priced standard and premium categories that are sold directly through FIFA’s global ticketing platform.
Response to Pricing Concerns
The announcement follows criticism from fans and supporter groups over rising ticket costs and the use of variable pricing models. FIFA said the new tier is designed to ensure that long-standing supporters are not priced out of attending matches, even as demand for tickets remains strong.
High Demand Expected
FIFA expects demand to exceed supply for the most affordable tickets. Fans are advised to apply early through their national associations, as availability in the new tier will be limited.
