Experts Back IAF Claim of Downing Pakistani Aircraft

International military aviation analysts and historians have endorsed Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh’s statement that the Indian Air Force (IAF) shot down at least five Pakistani fighter jets and one large airborne early warning aircraft during Operation Sindoor.

IAF Chief’s Statement

The IAF Chief stated that most of these aircraft were intercepted using India’s S-400 surface-to-air missile system, including a record-setting surface-to-air kill from approximately 300 km — the longest ever recorded. He also said parked F-16 fighters in hangars were destroyed in the strikes.

International Reaction

Several global experts have backed the IAF’s version, calling it consistent with available intelligence assessments. However, some analysts remain cautious, noting that no conclusive public evidence such as wreckage photos or radar records has been shared.

Pakistan’s Position

Pakistan has long rejected the IAF’s claims, instead promoting its own account of the confrontation. The two nations continue to present sharply conflicting narratives of the events.
