EV Two-Wheeler Sales Cross 11 Lakh in FY2027
India’s electric two-wheeler market has crossed 11 lakh retail sales in the first half of FY2027, driven by strong growth from TVS, Bajaj and Ather as demand for electric scooters continues to accelerate.
EV Two-Wheeler Sales Jump 76% in H1 FY2027
Electric two-wheeler retail sales reached 11.2 lakh units between April and September 2026, up 76% from 6.40 lakh units during the same period last year.
January to September 2026 sales have already crossed 16.1 lakh units, while the industry is projected to finish the financial year with around 22.6 lakh units.
September alone set a new monthly record with 2.07 lakh electric two-wheelers sold, an 89% increase compared with the same month in 2025.
TVS and Bajaj Lead the Market
TVS retained the top position with 2.90 lakh units sold during the first half of FY2027, giving it a 26% market share.
Bajaj followed with 2.53 lakh units and a 23% share, while Ather recorded 1.79 lakh units and held 16% of the market.
Hero-backed Vida sold 1.23 lakh units, while Ola remained in fifth place with an 8% market share, down sharply from 17% a year earlier.
EVs Now Drive Majority of India’s Electric Vehicle Sales
Electric two-wheelers accounted for around 62% of all EVs sold in India during the April-September period.
The top six manufacturers, TVS, Bajaj, Ather, Vida, Ola and Greaves Electric Mobility, together accounted for around 88% of the segment.
With the festive season underway, monthly sales could surpass September’s record if current demand continues.
