Drone From Lebanon Targets Israeli PM Netanyahu’s Home, No Injuries

A drone launched from Lebanon targeted the private residence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the coastal town of Caesarea.

The incident took place shortly after the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, heightening tensions in the region. Netanyahu and his wife were not at the residence during the attack, and no injuries were reported, according to a statement from the Israeli Prime Minister’s office.

Drone Attack Amid Rising Tensions

The drone, identified as an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), hit a building near Netanyahu’s home, prompting swift action from Israeli defense forces. Two additional drones were intercepted by Israeli military forces as they crossed into Israeli airspace. The Israeli military confirmed that the drone originated from Lebanon but did not specify who was behind the attack. Hezbollah, which has been in conflict with Israel since last October, has not claimed responsibility for the incident.

Escalation of Conflict in the Region

The attack comes amidst ongoing hostilities between Israel and Hamas, as well as escalating tensions with Hezbollah in Lebanon. Israel and Hezbollah have been exchanging rocket fire since early October, following Hamas’ deadly attack on Israel, which left over 1,200 Israelis dead and more than 250 hostages taken to Gaza. Israeli forces have also been engaged in ground operations along the Lebanese border.

The drone strike follows an Israeli airstrike that reportedly destroyed a Hezbollah regional command center, further intensifying the conflict. As of late September, at least 1,418 people have been killed in Lebanon, though the death toll is expected to rise. The situation remains tense as Israel continues its military operations in response to the ongoing threats from Hamas and Hezbollah.
