Donald Trump Lauds PM Modi as ‘Friend’ and ‘Nicest Human Being’

Former US President Donald Trump has praised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, describing him as a “friend” and the “nicest human being” during a recent podcast interview.

In an episode of the Flagrant podcast, former United States President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump spoke highly of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling him a “friend” and appreciating his leadership. Trump highlighted his personal relationship with Modi and how the Indian leader has contributed to stabilizing the nation.

Trump Recalls ‘Howdy, Modi’ Event in Texas

While discussing global leaders, Trump recalled the historic “Howdy, Modi” event held in September 2019 at Houston’s NRG Stadium. The event witnessed a gathering of nearly 80,000 Indian-Americans and marked a high point in US-India relations during Trump’s presidency.

“They did a thing called Howdy, Modi in Houston, Texas. It was me and him, and it was beautiful. The energy of the crowd was incredible, and the event was an absolute success,” Trump stated while reminiscing about the event, adding that it was one of the largest gatherings for an Indian Prime Minister in the US.

Strong Bond and Diplomatic Support

Trump also touched upon his close relationship with Modi, mentioning a particular conversation about India’s tensions with neighboring countries. Although Trump did not explicitly name Pakistan, he narrated how he offered to mediate in the situation. Modi, according to Trump, responded assertively, stating that he would handle the situation on his own, showcasing his strong leadership and resolve.

Mutual Respect and Collaboration

Throughout Trump’s tenure as US President, the camaraderie between Modi and Trump was evident through events like “Namaste Trump” in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, which saw a massive turnout of over 100,000 attendees. The event further solidified the rapport between the two leaders, with Modi referring to Trump as a “true friend of India” and Trump frequently commending Modi’s governance and persona.

Recently, Trump expressed his desire to meet Modi during his visit for the Quad Summit, where he described the Prime Minister as a “fantastic person.” Although the meeting did not materialize, Trump’s admiration for Modi’s leadership continues.
