Title: Domestic LPG Price Hiked By ₹60 Amid West Asia Conflict

Domestic cooking gas prices in India have been increased by ₹60 per cylinder as global energy markets react to the ongoing conflict in West Asia. The revision was implemented by state-run oil marketing companies as rising international fuel prices and supply disruptions begin affecting domestic energy costs.

Domestic LPG Cylinder Prices Increased Across India

The price of a standard 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder has been raised by ₹60 with effect from March 7. Following the increase, the price of a non-subsidised cylinder in Delhi has risen to around ₹913, while prices in other cities vary slightly depending on local taxes and transportation costs.

Domestic LPG cylinders are widely used for cooking in households across the country. The latest price revision follows earlier adjustments made over the past year as global energy prices remain volatile.

Officials indicated that the increase reflects higher international fuel costs and supply pressures affecting global energy markets.

Commercial LPG Cylinder Prices Also Raised

Along with domestic cylinders, commercial LPG cylinders used by restaurants, hotels, and businesses have also become more expensive. The price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been increased by around ₹114.5.

After the revision, the price of a commercial cylinder in Delhi has risen to approximately ₹1,883. Commercial LPG prices have seen multiple adjustments in recent months as businesses face higher fuel costs linked to international market trends.

West Asia Conflict Driving Global Energy Volatility

Energy markets have experienced volatility due to the conflict in West Asia, which has affected global crude oil and gas supply dynamics. Disruptions in major shipping routes and uncertainty surrounding production have contributed to rising fuel prices worldwide.

India imports a large share of its LPG requirement, making domestic prices sensitive to fluctuations in global energy markets. Changes in international crude oil and gas prices are often reflected in retail LPG prices in the country.
