Delhi Trains Cancelled for CJP Protest on October 10
Indian Railways has cancelled all Mail and Express trains scheduled to arrive at or depart from New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway stations between 4 a.m. and 2 p.m. on October 10, ahead of the Cockroach Janta Party’s planned protest in the capital.
Delhi Train Services Cancelled for 10 Hours
The restrictions will affect services at two of Delhi’s busiest railway stations during the 10-hour period.
Major long-distance trains, including several Rajdhani services, have been cancelled or rescheduled as part of the disruption.
The Howrah-New Delhi Rajdhani and Sealdah-New Delhi Rajdhani are among the prominent services affected.
Railways Cites Passenger Inconvenience and Traffic Concerns
Railway officials said the decision was taken because severe road congestion is expected around New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin stations during the protest.
Officials said thousands of passengers had already missed trains during earlier disruptions, prompting preventive measures ahead of October 10.
Passengers have been advised to verify the status of their trains before beginning their journeys and make alternative arrangements where necessary.
CJP Protest Targets Electoral Roll Revision
The Cockroach Janta Party has announced a major demonstration in Delhi demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and opposing the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
Delhi Police have not granted permission for the planned Jantar Mantar protest, citing procedural and law-and-order concerns.
Security has been significantly strengthened across New Delhi, with police and paramilitary personnel deployed around sensitive areas as authorities prepare for possible large gatherings and transport disruption.
