Delhi on High Alert After Red Fort Explosion
In the aftermath of the car explosion near the Red Fort metro station, authorities in India’s capital have deployed heightened security measures across the National Capital Region (NCR). The explosion, which occurred on 10 November 2025 around 6.52 p.m., killed at least eight people and injured nearly 20 others. Security forces invoked the anti-terror Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) as part of the investigation.
Measures at Key Sites
In response, extra personnel from the Railway Protection Force, bomb squads and dog units have been placed at major transit hubs, including metro stations, railway terminals and bus stands. Random frisking, baggage screening and CCTV audits are underway to monitor any suspicious activity. Officials are also restricting vehicle parking near tourist and historic zones and urging travellers to arrive early and cooperate with checks.
Investigative Status & Outlook
Investigators are examining CCTV footage, vehicle ownership records and forensic evidence to determine the cause of the blast and whether it was deliberately targeted. No responsible group has claimed the attack yet, and the probe is being carried out by both Delhi Police and National agencies. The heightened security is expected to remain until clear leads are established and public confidence is restored.
