Delhi On Alert Over LeT IED Threat
Security agencies in Delhi have intensified vigilance following intelligence inputs warning of a possible improvised explosive device (IED) attack allegedly being planned by Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The alert has led to heightened monitoring in sensitive and high-footfall areas of the national capital.
Lashkar-e-Taiba IED Plot In Chandni Chowk
According to security inputs, Lashkar-e-Taiba operatives may be planning an IED attack in the Chandni Chowk area, one of Delhi’s busiest commercial and tourist hubs. The alert specifically mentioned crowded public locations where large gatherings are common, raising concerns about potential civilian casualties.
Authorities are treating the input seriously and have activated counter-terror protocols to prevent any possible incident.
Red Fort And Religious Sites Under Surveillance
Security has been stepped up around the Red Fort and nearby religious sites in the Old Delhi area. The Red Fort, a major historical monument and tourist attraction, is considered a high-value target due to its symbolic and strategic significance.
Police teams have increased frisking, surveillance, and patrols in and around markets, temples, and entry points to crowded areas.
Delhi Police Intensifies Security Measures
Delhi Police and intelligence units are conducting coordinated operations, including random checks and anti-sabotage sweeps. CCTV monitoring has been enhanced, and additional personnel have been deployed in vulnerable zones.
