Delhi CM Hails UER-II as “Investment in Future”

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, during a site visit on Saturday, thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the development of Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II). She described it as more than a road — calling it an “investment in the future of Delhi” that will improve traffic flow, cut travel times dramatically, and raise the quality of life for millions across Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR).

Connectivity and Environmental Impact

Gupta emphasized that UER-II will become Delhi’s backbone of high-speed connectivity, linking the city not only with NCR but extending its reach across India. The corridor, stretching from NH-44 at Alipur to NH-48 near Mahipalpur via key areas like Mundka, Najafgarh, and Dwarka, is expected to significantly reduce pressure on Inner and Outer Ring Roads. This improvement will ease congestion at landmarks such as Mukarba Chowk, Dhaula Kuan, and Peeragarhi, offering enormous relief to daily commuters.

Regional Integration and Eco-benefits

The project also enhances access to industrial hubs like Sonipat and Bahadurgarh through dedicated link roads, which should help streamline goods movement and spur economic activity. Gupta noted that the improved traffic flow will cut fuel usage and reduce emissions, contributing positively to Delhi’s air quality and overall environment.

PM Modi’s Infrastructure Push

This appreciation aligns with a broader national infrastructure expansion. Prime Minister Modi is set to inaugurate UER-II alongside the Dwarka Expressway — projects collectively valued at nearly ₹11,000 crore. These efforts are part of a sustained push to improve connectivity, decongest the capital, and support Delhi’s vision of becoming a model of urban development.
