Delhi, Bombay High Courts Evacuated Over Bomb Threats

On September 12, 2025, an email threat warning of a bomb in the Judge’s Chamber of Delhi High Court forced all courts to stop, and the building was evacuated. Bomb detection teams were deployed and searches conducted. No explosive devices were found.

Similar Threat At Bombay High Court

Minutes after the threat in Delhi, the Bombay High Court also received a bomb threat via email. Hearings were suspended, and lawyers, staff, and litigants evacuated. Bomb disposal squads conducted a search. Preliminary reports suggest the threat might be a hoax.

Response And Security Measures

Security forces cordoned off both high courts. Judges and court staff were safely escorted out. Both high court premises were searched by bomb-squad and other security teams. Authorities have launched an investigation into the source of the email threats.

Public Safety And Legal Proceedings

Several court benches rose immediately upon receiving the notifications, postponing all hearings for the remainder of the day. Bar Associations helped facilitate the safe evacuation. There has been major concern about the pattern of these threats in Delhi-NCR.
