Delhi Blast Investigation Praised by US, India Probes Terror Attack

The United States, through Secretary of State Marco Rubio, said the car explosion near the Red Fort in New Delhi was “clearly a terrorist attack” and commended India’s investigation as “very good” and “professional”. He said India did not need external help for the probe. The explosion, which struck a busy area of the capital on 10 November 2025, killed at least eight people and wounded around 20. Authorities registered the case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), India’s principal anti-terror legislation.

Investigation Under Way

The blast reportedly involved a car stopped at a traffic light near the Red Fort metro station, which then exploded, causing damage to nearby vehicles. Forensic teams collected evidence and traced the vehicle. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) was tasked with leading the inquiry. Investigators are exploring links to interstate or trans-national terror networks and have raised security alerts across the National Capital Region.

Political & Security Response

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the incident, vowing that “conspirators will not be spared”. Home Minister Amit Shah oversaw high-level security meetings and directed agencies to apprehend all involved. Massive security reinforcements were deployed in Delhi and neighbouring states, including at airports, temples, metro stations and critical infrastructure. No group has so far claimed responsibility.
