The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team has collected samples from the site and said the exact nature and cause of the blast will only be confirmed after detailed examination.
FSL Statement
Speaking to reporters, FSL officer Mohammad Wahid said, “The samples will be taken to the laboratory, and only after analysis can we make any confirmation. Everything will be known after the examination.” The forensic team has reportedly collected residue samples, metal fragments, and soil from the blast site to determine whether any chemical or explosive compound was used.
Casualties And Next Steps
The explosion, which occurred near the iconic Red Fort in the evening hours, left at least eight people dead and several others injured. Rescue teams and local police quickly cordoned off the area, and the injured were taken to nearby hospitals.
