Dassault Gains Control of India JV with Reliance

Dassault Aviation has bought an additional 2% stake in Dassault Reliance Aerospace Limited (DRAL), raising its holding from 49% to 51%. With this move, Dassault has taken majority control, while Reliance Aerostructure Ltd, a unit of Reliance Infrastructure, now holds 49%.

Deal Value and Completion Timeline

The stake transfer is valued at about ₹176 crore (around $20 million), based on independent valuation. The transaction is expected to be completed by November 1, 2025.

Strategic Implications for Dassault

Following this deal, DRAL will no longer be classified as a subsidiary of Reliance Infrastructure and will instead operate as an associate company with Dassault in charge. The change strengthens Dassault’s operational control in India and aligns with its long-term growth plans.

Manufacturing Focus in Nagpur

DRAL manufactures components for Rafale fighter jets and Falcon 2000 business jets, catering to both Indian and global markets. Dassault has designated the facility as a Centre of Excellence and is planning to establish a Final Assembly Line for Falcon jets in Nagpur.
