Congress Decides to Stay in DMK Alliance

The Congress leadership has firmly ruled out any move to exit its alliance with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam in Tamil Nadu, putting an end to internal speculation over the future of the partnership. The decision was taken after consultations between the party’s central leadership and state unit leaders.

High-Level Review in Delhi

Senior Congress leaders reviewed the political situation in Tamil Nadu and assessed concerns raised by sections of the state unit. After the discussions, the leadership concluded that remaining in the DMK-led alliance remains strategically important for the party, especially in the context of upcoming electoral challenges.

Message to Party Cadre

The party high command has also conveyed a clear message to its leaders and workers to avoid public statements that could fuel speculation or strain ties with alliance partners. Congress leaders were reminded that decisions on alliances are taken at the national level and that discipline is crucial for coalition stability.

Alliance to Continue

While some leaders have raised issues related to coordination and political space within the alliance, the Congress has made it clear that such matters will be addressed internally. For now, the party has shut the door on any talk of breaking away from the DMK.
