Commercial LPG Cylinder Prices Reduced by ₹58.50 from July 1

Effective July 1, oil marketing companies have reduced the price of the 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder by ₹58.50, providing significant relief to the hospitality and service sectors. In Delhi, the revised price now stands at ₹1,665, down from ₹1,723.50.

This marks the fourth consecutive monthly reduction in commercial LPG rates, offering cumulative relief of over ₹130 since March. Businesses using LPG for cooking and heating—such as restaurants, caterers, and hotels—are expected to benefit the most from the sustained price correction.

City-Wise Price Update

  • Delhi: ₹1,665
  • Mumbai: ₹1,616
  • Kolkata: ₹1,769
  • Chennai: ₹1,823.50

These revised rates reflect regional transportation and tax variations but indicate a broader trend of downward pricing in sync with global crude corrections.

Domestic LPG Prices Unchanged

While commercial cylinders have seen a rate cut, the price of 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders remains unchanged. This has left many household consumers disappointed, especially amid inflationary pressure on household budgets.

Government sources indicate that the monthly pricing cycle will continue to be reviewed, but no immediate changes are expected for domestic cooking gas.

Sectoral Impact and Outlook

The price cut is expected to ease operating costs for food businesses, potentially allowing for better profit margins or more competitive pricing. As energy costs are a major input in hospitality services, the reduction is seen as timely and supportive of post-pandemic recovery efforts in the sector.

Meanwhile, small businesses that rely on commercial LPG cylinders see this as a modest but important move to contain input costs. Analysts believe further cuts may be considered if global energy markets continue on a downward trajectory.
