China Vows to “Fight to the End” in Trade War
China has declared it is prepared to “fight to the end” in its trade dispute with the United States after Washington threatened to impose 100 percent tariffs on Chinese goods. Beijing also defended its new export controls on rare earth minerals, saying they were necessary for national security.
Door Still Open for Talks
Despite the hard line, Chinese officials noted that they remain open to dialogue. A spokesperson said:
“If there’s a fight, we’ll fight to the end; if there’s talk, the door is open.”
China accused the U.S. of engaging in “discriminatory practices” and abusing trade rules through unilateral measures. It dismissed Washington’s tariff threats as unjustified and damaging to global markets.
Trade War Context
The renewed tensions follow President Donald Trump’s announcement of higher tariffs in response to China’s mineral export restrictions. The U.S. views the move as an unfair advantage since China dominates global supply chains in rare earths.
Earlier, both countries had reached limited agreements on rare earth supplies, but the latest escalation signals a deeper confrontation that could shake international trade flows.
