China Envoy Urges India, Beijing to Reject Tariff Wars
China’s Ambassador to India, Xu Feihong, urged both nations to stand against tariff wars and trade protectionism. He said economic ties should not be undermined by external pressures.

Xu stressed that India and China should not let unresolved border issues or specific disagreements define the broader relationship. He called for cooperation in trade, diplomacy, and global engagement.
Pushback Against Unilateral Tariffs
He also criticized U.S. tariffs, calling them unfair and unreasonable, urging that power politics not dictate trade. Xu said both nations should resist hegemony and unilateral trade actions.
Strengthening Bilateral Relations
Xu cited the meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Tianjin as signaling a “new level of improvement” in ties. He proposed a four-point approach: long-term planning, mutual respect, peaceful co-existence, and win-win cooperation
