China Warns US Over Taiwan Arms Supply
China has urged the United States to act cautiously in military dealings with Taiwan after a conversation between President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump highlighted tensions over arms supplies to the island.

Xi Jinping told Trump that arms transfers to Taiwan remain a sensitive issue for Beijing and warned that such actions could affect regional stability. China considers Taiwan part of its territory and routinely opposes foreign military support to the island.
Chinese officials reiterated that external interference in the Taiwan question is viewed as a challenge to sovereignty concerns and broader bilateral relations.
US Taiwan Security Cooperation
The United States maintains unofficial relations with Taiwan and provides defensive military equipment under longstanding policy commitments. Washington states the assistance is intended to help Taiwan maintain self defence capability and deter coercion.
Discussions between the leaders included managing competition while preventing escalation in the Indo Pacific region.
US China Relations Outlook
The exchange reflects continuing strategic rivalry between the two countries alongside efforts to keep communication channels open. Both sides emphasised the importance of dialogue to avoid misunderstandings while differences remain on security and regional issues.
