Chandrababu Naidu Sets 17.1% Growth Target For 2025-26

Andhra Pradesh’s economy grew 10.50% in the first quarter of FY 2025-26, outpacing the national average of 8.8%. Reviewing the numbers with officials, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the State should target 17.1% growth for the full year.

CM’s Focus Areas

Naidu asked departments to concentrate on sectors with headroom for faster expansion, including transport, insurance, real estate, tourism and aquaculture. He said AP’s coastline and natural resources can be leveraged to lift output and jobs, with closer monitoring of projects and quicker approvals.

Sector Performance So Far

Officials briefed the CM that industry grew ~11.9%, services ~10.7%, and agriculture ~9.6% in Q1. Within agriculture, fishing and aquaculture posted strong gains, while in industry mining and quarrying led growth. Passenger traffic and tourist arrivals also improved, supporting services activity.

Next Steps

The government plans tighter tracking of district-level targets, faster clearances, and measures to crowd-in private investment. Naidu said sustained policy execution is key if the State is to move from double-digit quarterly growth to the 17.1% annual goal.
