CDS Chauhan Warns India Can’t Tolerate Nuclear Threat

Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan has issued a stern message to Pakistan, saying that India will not tolerate even the threat of a nuclear strike. Speaking on the lessons from recent operations, he criticised Islamabad’s reliance on nuclear deterrence as a shield for supporting terrorism. He emphasised that India has demonstrated both the capability and the will to respond decisively.

Operation Sindoor as Evidence

Referring to Operation Sindoor, the coordinated Indian drone and missile strikes on terror launch pads and infrastructure inside Pakistani territory, General Chauhan said the mission exposed the limits of Pakistan’s nuclear bluff. According to him, the operation showed that Pakistan “thought it could do anything under the nuclear umbrella, but was proved wrong.”

Strategic Message

Chauhan stressed that India’s security establishment will not allow nuclear threats to dictate its response to terrorism. He said Pakistan must understand that deterrence is not a licence for unchecked aggression. The message, observers say, underscores India’s shift toward a more proactive and assertive military posture in the region.
