Canada Arrests Key SFJ Member Inderjit Singh Gosal
Canadian authorities have arrested Inderjit Singh Gosal, a prominent member of Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) with close ties to Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. Gosal, aged 36, was taken into custody in Oshawa, Ontario on firearms-related charges.
Firearms Charges Filed
According to police documents, the charges include illegal possession of a banned gun and careless use that allegedly endangered public safety. Two other individuals were also charged in the same case.
Links to Khalistan Referendum
Gosal is known to be the Canada coordinator of SFJ’s Khalistan Referendum campaign and considered a trusted aide of Pannun. This is his second arrest in under a year. Previously, he was arrested in November 2024 in Brampton, Ontario, in connection with a violent incident at a Hindu temple in the Greater Toronto Area. He faced charges related to assault with a weapon.
India’s Stand on SFJ
New Delhi has designated SFJ as a terrorist organisation and accuses it of financing separatist activities abroad.
