Cameron Green Headlines IPL 2026 Auction List
The player list for the IPL 2026 mini-auction has been released, featuring 1,355 registered cricketers ahead of the auction scheduled for December 16 in Abu Dhabi. Australian all-rounder Cameron Green is the biggest name in the pool, placed in the highest base-price bracket of ₹2 crore. This category includes several overseas stars and only two Indian players.
₹2 Crore Category Has Few Indians
A total of 45 players have opted for the ₹2-crore base price. While the bracket is filled with well-known international all-rounders and T20 specialists, only Venkatesh Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi represent India in this tier. Many leading Indian players were retained by their franchises, which is why only a handful appear in the top price slab.
Auction to Fill Limited Slots
The auction will fill 77 vacant squad positions across all 10 teams. With the maximum squad size capped at 25 players, franchises will be highly selective. The presence of more than 1,300 names in the pool means intense competition, especially for players in the higher price bands.
Teams Expected to Target All-Rounders
Several teams have freed up purse space after releasing players, making all-rounders like Cameron Green attractive options. Teams looking to strengthen their balance for the upcoming season are expected to aggressively bid for impactful overseas players.
High-Intensity Bidding Expected
With numerous big names at the same price point and limited availability of top-tier Indian talent, the ₹2-crore bracket is expected to generate the biggest bidding battles. Franchises will need to balance cost, overseas slots and team composition as they plan their strategies.
