Budget Session 2026: Parliament Day 2 Highlights

The second day of the Budget Session 2026 saw Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman table the Economic Survey 2025–26 in the Lok Sabha. The survey outlined the government’s assessment of the Indian economy, covering growth trends, fiscal position and key challenges ahead of the Union Budget.

PM Modi Addresses Media

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the media outside Parliament, saying the Budget Session would reflect confidence in India’s economic direction. He said recent reforms and policy measures have strengthened growth prospects and global confidence in the Indian economy.

Lok Sabha Adjourned Ahead of Budget

After the Economic Survey was tabled, the Lok Sabha was adjourned until February 1, when the Union Budget for 2026–27 will be presented. Parliamentary discussions on the survey are expected to follow once the House reconvenes.

The session also witnessed condolences and references related to recent political developments, with parties preparing for detailed debates on economic priorities in the days ahead.
