Bomb Threats Target Delhi School, College
Authorities in Delhi responded to bomb threat emails received by St. Stephen’s College at Delhi University and St. Thomas School in Dwarka on July 15. Both institutions were evacuated immediately, and search operations were launched using bomb disposal squads, dog units, and fire services.
Pattern of Recent Threats
This incident comes a day after similar email threats were sent to other Delhi schools, including institutions in Chanakyapuri and Dwarka. Like the earlier cases, officials found no explosives during thorough searches, suggesting a likely hoax designed to cause panic.
Police Investigation Underway
Delhi Police are investigating the origin of the emails and examining whether a larger pattern or coordinated effort is behind these false alarms. Forensic teams are also examining digital evidence and email servers to trace the sender.
Security cordons were quickly set up around the affected premises, and additional police presence was deployed in nearby areas. Routine academic activities were suspended for the day at both institutions as a precaution.
Public Reassured
Police have confirmed that there is no immediate threat, and no explosive devices were found at either location. However, heightened security measures remain in place across Delhi, especially at educational institutions, to ensure the safety of students and staff.
The Delhi government has also asked schools and colleges to review their emergency preparedness protocols, and parents have been advised to remain calm and follow official instructions.
