BJP Outlines 71 Candidates for Bihar Polls
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its first list of 71 candidates for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. Among the names is Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, who will contest from Tarapur.
Other Key Picks
Another Deputy CM, Vijay Kumar Sinha, has been named candidate from Lakhisarai. Seasoned BJP leaders such as Ram Kripal Yadav have also been fielded — he will contest from Danapur. Other significant nominations include Renu Devi from Bettiah, Nitin Nabin from Bankipur, and Mangal Pandey from Siwan.
Strategy and Seat Sharing
This candidate declaration comes shortly after the NDA seat-sharing agreement, which allotted 101 seats each to BJP and JDU, with other allies taking remaining constituencies. The BJP says the list balances experience and electability, while future rounds may include more women and regional representatives.
