BJP Names In-Charges for 2027 State Polls

The Bharatiya Janata Party has announced new in-charges for Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Gujarat as it begins preparations for the 2027 Assembly elections. BJP national president Nitin Nabin has entrusted senior leaders Vinod Tawde, Satish Poonia and Tarun Chugh with responsibilities in the three politically significant states.

Vinod Tawde Named BJP In-Charge for Uttar Pradesh

BJP national general secretary Vinod Tawde has been appointed in-charge of Uttar Pradesh, one of the party’s most important electoral battlegrounds ahead of the 2027 Assembly polls.

Jagdish Ishwarbhai Patel has been appointed co-in-charge for Uttar Pradesh and will work alongside Tawde in coordinating organisational and election preparations.

Uttar Pradesh remains central to the BJP’s national strategy because of its size, political influence and significant representation in Parliament.

Satish Poonia Gets Punjab BJP Responsibility

Former Rajasthan BJP president Satish Poonia has been appointed the party’s in-charge for Punjab.

The appointment comes as the BJP seeks to strengthen its organisation and expand its electoral footprint in the state ahead of the 2027 Assembly election.

Punjab remains a challenging political terrain for the BJP, making organisational strengthening and constituency-level mobilisation important components of its preparations.

Tarun Chugh Appointed Gujarat BJP In-Charge

BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh has been given responsibility for Gujarat, where the party will seek to retain power in the 2027 Assembly election.

The appointments form part of a broader organisational restructuring under Nitin Nabin and signal an early focus on election preparedness across the three states.

The new in-charges are expected to coordinate with state units, oversee organisational planning and help shape campaign strategy ahead of the 2027 polls.
