Bhagwat: India Must Be Powerful for National Security

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has made a forceful appeal for India to strengthen itself in all spheres to ensure national security and global respect. Speaking in an interview with RSS-affiliated publication Organiser, Bhagwat outlined a vision that blends physical power, social unity, and spiritual leadership rooted in Indian civilizational values.

National Security as a Non-Negotiable Priority

Bhagwat warned of the growing threats at India’s borders and emphasized that strength is not a luxury but a necessity. “We have no option but to be powerful as we have been witnessing the wickedness of the evil forces on all our borders,” he said, underscoring that a weak nation cannot survive against adversarial intent.

He stressed that military preparedness alone would not suffice. According to Bhagwat, national security must also include internal cohesion, resilience, and self-sufficiency. He urged all sections of Indian society to contribute to making the country strong and independent in every sense—from economy to education, and from values to vision.

Hindu Unity is the Core of Resilience

Mohan Bhagwat repeatedly emphasized that the foundation of national strength is a cohesive and awakened Hindu society. He called on Hindus to rise above caste, regional, and sectarian differences to embrace a unified identity that contributes to the nation’s larger purpose.

A strong and united Hindu community, he asserted, naturally protects the interests of all Indians—regardless of religion. This vision, he said, is inclusive and oriented toward a harmonious society where every citizen thrives. “If Hindus unite, it is not to dominate others, but to uplift all,” Bhagwat remarked.

Dharmic Values Must Guide India’s Global Role

Looking beyond national borders, Bhagwat spoke of India’s potential role as a global leader—not through power alone, but through its spiritual and moral compass. He advocated for a “dharmic revolution” where India becomes a model of truth, compassion, self-restraint, and sustainability.

“The world is waiting for a new path and Bharat, meaning Hindu society, has to provide it as a divine duty,” he declared. Bhagwat called on the country’s youth, intellectuals, and policymakers to pursue development that is not only materially rich but morally guided.

As the RSS approaches its centenary, Bhagwat’s vision signals a direction for India that combines civilizational pride with contemporary strategic thinking. His words come at a time when India faces increasing geopolitical pressure and a fractured social fabric, making his call for strength and unity particularly timely.
