Bangladesh NSA Meets India’s Doval in Delhi
Bangladesh’s National Security Adviser Dr Khalilur Rahman met India’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval in New Delhi on Wednesday. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Colombo Security Conclave (CSC) discussions and was confirmed by the Bangladesh High Commission. Both sides reviewed CSC initiatives and exchanged views on key regional developments.
Focus on Bilateral and Security Cooperation
Rahman extended a formal invitation to Doval to visit Bangladesh, signalling Dhaka’s intention to deepen strategic engagement with New Delhi. While detailed agenda points were not publicly disclosed, the discussions are understood to have covered counter-terrorism coordination, border management and cross-border infrastructure projects. India has not issued a separate statement on the talks.
Context and Strategic Importance
The meeting comes at a time when regional security dynamics are shifting, with Bangladesh recalibrating its diplomatic outreach and India strengthening neighbourhood partnerships. Analysts say the interaction underscores continuity in India–Bangladesh cooperation despite wider geopolitical pressures. Future engagements may see both countries expanding collaboration through the CSC platform and broader bilateral channels.
