At Least 50 Killed In Israeli Strikes On Gaza

Gaza’s Hamas-run civil defence agency said at least 50 people, including children, were killed in overnight Israeli airstrikes across the Strip. The strikes came just weeks after a fragile ceasefire deal, raising fears of renewed escalation. Over 200 others were reportedly injured in the bombings.

Details Of The Strikes

According to Gaza authorities, the airstrikes hit multiple locations in northern and southern parts of the territory, including makeshift shelters for displaced families. Israel Defence Forces (IDF), however, said the strikes were in response to mortar and rocket fire from Gaza and targeted Hamas military infrastructure.

Ceasefire At Risk

The violence has put the already shaky ceasefire under severe strain. Aid organisations warned that intensified attacks could worsen the humanitarian situation, which has left much of Gaza’s population displaced and reliant on limited relief.

International Reactions

The renewed hostilities have drawn concern from the United Nations and other international bodies, with calls for restraint and protection of civilians. Diplomatic observers say the situation could deteriorate rapidly if both sides continue retaliatory actions.
