Asim Munir Says Pakistan Military Undergoing Transformation
Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir said the country’s armed forces are undergoing a major transformation to prepare for future security challenges, with a strong focus on modern warfare and new technologies.
Shift Towards Modern Warfare
Speaking during an interaction with troops, Munir said traditional concepts of warfare are changing rapidly, with technology-driven operations becoming central to military strategy. He said the Pakistan military is adapting to multi-domain warfare, where cyber, electronic and information-based capabilities play a critical role alongside conventional forces.
Focus on Technology and Readiness
Munir highlighted the increased use of advanced systems, including unmanned platforms, electronic warfare tools and modern command-and-control structures. He said these changes are aimed at improving operational readiness and ensuring faster decision-making in high-intensity conflict scenarios.
Training and Operational Preparedness
The army chief also reviewed ongoing training exercises and expressed satisfaction with the preparedness and morale of troops. He said continuous training, innovation and indigenisation are key pillars of the transformation process.
Emphasis on National Defence
Munir reiterated that the military remains committed to defending Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, stating that the ongoing transformation is designed to counter both present and emerging threats.
