Veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin addressed swirling trade speculation ahead of the IPL 2026 mini-auction. Responding on his YouTube show Ash Ki Baat, Ashwin said he has formally requested clarity from Chennai Super Kings (CSK) about his future with the franchise.

Refuting rumours linking him to a swap involving Sanju Samson, Ashwin said that any trade decisions are entirely up to the franchises. “There’s nothing in my hands,” he stated, emphasizing that he has no insider information. He added that all the trade buzz is being fueled from external sources or franchise channels—not by players.

Reports suggest that Sanju Samson, who has requested a trade or release from RR, could be on CSK’s radar. However, Ashwin highlighted the financial mechanics involved, noting that Samson’s ₹18 crore valuation would require CSK to free up equivalent funds via player trades or releases. Ashwin maintained a lighthearted tone, even joking that he should “trade himself,” as the rumours swirl.
