Asaduddin Owaisi Strongly Supports the Continuation of Operation Sindoor
All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi has strongly supported the continuation of Operation Sindoor, calling for decisive retaliation against those responsible for the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam. Addressing a public rally in Bodhan, Telangana, Owaisi said the operation must not stop until all four perpetrators of the attack are neutralised and their handlers brought to justice.
The Pahalgam attack, which killed 26 civilians including several women and children, shocked the nation and led to widespread public outcry. In response, India launched Operation Sindoor in early May, targeting terror launchpads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and across the international border. The multi-day precision strike reportedly neutralised over 100 militants and dismantled several terror camps.
Criticism of Centre and J&K Administration
Owaisi also criticised the central government’s handling of internal security and took aim at Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. Referring to Sinha’s statement owning responsibility for the lapse, Owaisi remarked that such a declaration must be followed by resignation, not mere words.
He questioned the government’s ability to prevent such attacks and demanded that the intelligence and administrative failures be thoroughly investigated. The AIMIM leader reiterated that justice for the victims of Pahalgam must not be delayed and that symbolic gestures were not enough.
Strategic Importance of Operation Sindoor
Operation Sindoor was carried out between May 7 and May 10 and marked one of India’s largest cross-border responses in recent years. Indian forces conducted air and ground operations with the aim of dismantling Pakistan-based terror infrastructure. No Indian casualties were reported during the operation.
Owaisi’s remarks come as the nation debates the next course of action following the conclusion of the mission. While the government has signaled a diplomatic pause, security agencies remain on high alert. Political voices like Owaisi’s are pushing for continued military vigilance, arguing that deterrence must be sustained to ensure national security.
