Army Chief Warns Pakistan: “Will Erase From Map”
India’s Army Chief, General Upendra Dwivedi, issued a sharp warning on October 3, 2025, stating that Pakistan must halt state-sponsored terrorism or risk losing its geographical standing. He said India would not maintain the same restraint as it did during Operation Sindoor 1.0, hinting at more forceful responses in the future.
Warning at Rajasthan Posting
Speaking at an Army post in Anupgarh, Rajasthan, the general addressed troops and media, cautioning that if Pakistan “wants to retain its place in geography,” it must change course. He warned that in contrast to past restraint, the next response would be more decisive. He urged soldiers to prepare, saying an opportunity could arise “if God wills.”
Reference to Operation Sindoor
General Dwivedi referenced Operation Sindoor, India’s military response earlier in 2025 after the Pahalgam terror attack, as an example of measured retaliation. The original operation targeted militant infrastructure and resulted in cross-border strikes on terror camps. India asserts that it did not strike Pakistan’s civilian or military facilities.
Escalation Risks
The warning marks one of the strongest military signals from India in recent times. While it stops short of declaring imminent conflict, the language significantly raises the stakes. Analysts monitor whether this signals a shift in India’s policy from calibrated responses to more assertive posturing.
