Army Chief Says Operation Sindoor’s Did Not Conclude on 10th May

Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi said the India–Pakistan conflict sparked by Operation Sindoor did not conclude with the May 10 ceasefire. He explained that military activity continued in various forms beyond the truce, requiring further operational decisions.

Operations Like a “Rhythmic Wave”

At a book launch on the operation, General Dwivedi compared the coordinated actions of the armed forces to a “rhythmic wave.” He emphasized that the campaign was not confined to a single event but extended over time through sustained efforts.

Effect on LoC Yet to Be Seen

General Dwivedi stated it is too early to assess Operation Sindoor’s full impact on the Line of Control. He cautioned that Pakistan-backed infiltration attempts remain active and terrorism has not diminished, highlighting that threats continue despite the ceasefire.

Push for Theaterisation

Reiterating his support for theaterisation, General Dwivedi called for integration of the army, air force, and navy into joint commands. He said this restructuring is vital for future operations and will happen eventually, whether sooner or later.
