Army Chief Celebrates Diwali With Troops at Forward Posts

India’s Army Chief, General Upendra Dwivedi, visited forward deployment zones in the Central Sector along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) to celebrate the Diwali festival with serving personnel. The visit included high-altitude posts in the Kumaon region and surrounding border outposts.

Operational readiness emphasised

During the visit, General Dwivedi received briefings on the formations’ operational posture, including advances in surveillance systems, mobility platforms and coordination with allied security agencies. He reaffirmed that the personnel remain fully prepared to meet evolving security challenges and praised their professionalism and discipline in difficult terrain.

Civil-military synergy highlighted

The Army Chief also held interactions with local veterans and border-community members, underscoring the importance of civil-military cooperation. He extended warm Diwali greetings to the troops and their families and highlighted initiatives supporting border development and welfare of soldiers.
