Army Chief Asserts India’s Readiness to Respond Aggressively to Provocations
In a recent statement, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi reiterated India’s assertive defense policy, emphasizing that the country is fully prepared to respond aggressively if provoked. He noted that since 2014, India has adopted a more proactive approach in dealing with security threats and safeguarding its borders.
General Dwivedi’s remarks reflect the evolving defense strategy of the Indian Army, which has focused on enhancing border security, modernizing military capabilities, and adopting a no-tolerance policy toward cross-border terrorism. Addressing tensions with Pakistan, General Dwivedi stated that while India always advocates for peaceful relations, it will not hesitate to act decisively if its national interests are threatened.
