Army Chief Asserts India’s Readiness to Respond Aggressively to Provocations
In a recent statement, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi reiterated India’s assertive defense policy, emphasizing that the country is fully prepared to respond aggressively if provoked. He noted that since 2014, India has adopted a more proactive approach in dealing with security threats and safeguarding its borders.
General Dwivedi’s remarks reflect the evolving defense strategy of the Indian Army, which has focused on enhancing border security, modernizing military capabilities, and adopting a no-tolerance policy toward cross-border terrorism. His comments also align with India’s broader security policy, which prioritizes swift and decisive action against any threats to its sovereignty.
Direct Message to Pakistan on Security Concerns
Addressing tensions with Pakistan, General Dwivedi stated that while India always advocates for peaceful relations, it will not hesitate to act decisively if its national interests are threatened. He emphasized that India’s military is not just defensive but capable of taking offensive actions if required.
His statement serves as a strong warning to Pakistan, reinforcing India’s position on cross-border terrorism and ceasefire violations. Relations between the two nations have remained tense, with India maintaining that terrorist activities originating from Pakistani soil must be curbed for any substantial diplomatic progress to be made.
India’s defensive and offensive preparedness has been demonstrated in past military operations, including the surgical strikes in 2016 and the Balakot airstrikes in 2019, both of which were in response to attacks linked to Pakistan-based terrorist groups.
India’s Military Preparedness and Vigilance
General Dwivedi also reassured the nation that the Indian Army remains on high alert, ensuring the security and stability of the country’s borders. He highlighted that troop deployments, technological advancements, and intelligence-sharing mechanisms have significantly improved India’s ability to counter threats effectively.
India has been investing heavily in defense modernization, acquiring advanced weaponry, surveillance systems, and border infrastructure to maintain superiority in regional security dynamics. The Army Chief stressed that the military is equipped to handle any challenges, ensuring that India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity remain uncompromised.
His remarks highlight India’s firm and unwavering stance on national security, sending a strong message to both domestic and international stakeholders that the country is prepared for any eventuality and will not tolerate any attempts to undermine its security.
