Argentina Eases Entry for Indians with US Visas
Argentina has announced a new rule allowing Indian citizens holding valid US tourist visas to enter the country without needing a separate Argentine visa or Electronic Travel Authorization (AVE). The decision, confirmed by Ambassador Mariano Caucino on X, was published in the Official Gazette and takes immediate effect.
Immigration Directorate to Approve Entries
Under the new arrangement, Argentina’s National Immigration Directorate will handle entry approvals by verifying the authenticity and validity of US visas held by Indian citizens. Travellers must carry passports with sufficient validity and meet all basic requirements, but no additional Argentine permit will be necessary.
Part of Wider Tourism Strategy
This step mirrors similar relaxations granted earlier to travellers from China and the Dominican Republic holding US visas. Argentina aims to strengthen tourism flows and deepen ties with India by simplifying travel rules for vetted visitors. Officials hope the move will encourage more Indian tourists to explore the South American nation, supporting economic growth and bilateral cooperation.
