Anti-Terror Operation Underway in Kishtwar
Security forces have launched an anti-terror operation in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir to track down a group of suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists. The operation, which began earlier this month, has been intensified amid difficult terrain and snowfall as forces continue searching forested areas for the suspects.
Internet Services Suspended
Mobile internet services have been temporarily suspended in parts of Kishtwar, including Singhpora, Chingam and Chatroo, to support the operation and prevent misuse of communications during the security action. Authorities said the suspension is aimed at maintaining public order and assisting security planning.
Ongoing Search and No Confirmed Contact
Security officials say no confirmed contact with the suspected terrorists has been reported so far. The operation follows earlier engagements in the region in recent days, with forces conducting thorough searches in response to specific intelligence about hostile elements in the snow-bound forest belt.
Security Coordination Continues
Army units, police and other security agencies are working together in rugged terrain to locate and neutralise the group. Residents have been urged to cooperate with authorities and remain vigilant as operations continue.
