Andhra Govt Allots 480 Acres For Adani–Google AI Hub

The Andhra Pradesh government has approved the allocation of 480 acres of land in Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli districts for a large-scale AI data centre project led by Adani Infra (India) Pvt Ltd in partnership with Raiden Infotech, a firm associated with Google. The cabinet cleared the proposal on November 28, enabling work to begin on what is being described as one of India’s biggest AI infrastructure hubs.

Project To House 1 GW AI Data Centre

The proposed facility will host a 1-gigawatt AI data centre campus designed for high-performance computing workloads. The project is expected to involve investment of more than ₹87,000 crore and will be developed in phases. Officials said the scale of the infrastructure reflects the rising demand for AI processing power across industries.

Multiple Adani Entities And Partners Involved

Under the approved framework, Adani Infra is designated as the primary project partner. Other entities listed include AdaniConneX, Adani Power, and telecom-sector affiliates linked to Airtel. The government has also cleared incentives estimated at around ₹22,000 crore to support long-term development.

Boost To Vizag’s Tech Ambitions

The AI data centre is projected to significantly enhance Visakhapatnam’s position as an emerging technology hub. The project is expected to generate new investment opportunities, expand digital infrastructure and strengthen India’s competitiveness in global AI and data-processing markets.
